Every girl is expected to have caucasian blue eyes, full Spanish lips, a classic button nose, hairless Asian skin with a California tan, a Jamaican dance hall ass, long Swedish legs, small Japanese feet, the abs of a lesbian gym owner, the hips of a nine-year-old boy, the arms of Michelle Obama and doll tits. This is why everyone is struggling.”
-Tina Fey

Anyway
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

Growing
I haven't posted in so long. I feel I used to be so eloquent and articulate but as of late I've become a little more than rusty.
Let's work on that, Shall we?
Growing up is horrible, it's a horrible wonderful thing. Things have started changing in my life, things I can't control. Friends move away, people get married, serve missions, go off to school, even pass away and I'm finally starting to see the repercussions of it all. Most days I get overwhelmed and think "How could I get any happier than I was before?" I don't think I can move on because people's fingerprints are still on my heart and voices still resonate down my toes and smiles live in my eyes and every single time my mind wanders I'm taken back to how things were. Isn't that silly of me?
I stumbled upon this quote today and have felt so propelled to share it, ya know cause this is my blog and I have an invisible audience to appeal to. ha whatever. Anyway.
“So, I guess we are who we are for alot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.”
― Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Living in the past is such an interesting thing. We don't think anything better can come from the future and so we dread change. We dread stepping into something unknown and fear fear itself. We question our capabilities. I love this quote. We can't change the past or live in it but "We can still do things and we can try to feel okay about them" We don't have to be okay and that's totally okay but we just keep trying. We don't shut down and try to prevent change. Just keep trying. Let go and try and that's more than acceptable. Try.

It’s scary to find someone that makes you happy. You start giving them all of your attention because they’re what makes you forget everything bad that’s going on in your life. They’re the first person you want to talk to in the morning and the last one before you sleep just so you can start and end your day with a smile. It all sounds great to have that someone, but it’s scary to think about how easily they could just leave and take that happiness away too when they go.

no more.
My heart is bursting at the seams with the love that I want to give. I had bundled it up inside me for so long ready to give it to someone. To you. I had it ready to present it but instead I smothered it back down away from anyone to see. So now it oozes from my cracks because there is no place to direct it.
I am tired of always falling back into my head where thoughts that aren't real stay. Nostalgia is my bitter friend. The parts just out of reach the memories of what was or my childish thoughts of things that could be and what was lost along the way. Where the affectionate sentiments and the dizzy fallings seem to drown me. No more.

Back in the Groove.
Christmas is coming. I can't even handle this blog! I have one, ONE decoration on my tree, Ariel, and it's perfect.
In other news Christmas Carol is going great. Aubrey came with the family tonight and brought me flowers. I love her seriously she's wonderful.
Blog, I miss you. I miss writing, I miss being able to express exactly how I feel to an invisible audience. I am not eloquent like I used to be. I stumble over the things I say and can't seem to articulate what I think or feel. Ha the funny thing is, I don't know what I exactly I do feel anymore about so many things.

“Vulnerability is the only authentic state. Being vulnerable means being open, for wounding, but also for pleasure. Being open to the wounds of life means also being open to the bounty and beauty. Don’t mask or deny your vulnerability: it is your greatest asset. Be vulnerable: quake and shake in your boots with it. The new goodness that is coming to you, in the form of people, situations, and things can only come to you when you are vulnerable and open.”
